The organisation's main aims are: Increasing Environmental Awareness Nature Conservation Promoting Renewable Energy Keeping Alive Traditional Countryside Skills and Crafts Promoting Healthy Food Production CELT promotes sustainable living through the use of local natural and recycled resources with reliance on traditional skills using hand tools as much as possible.  Encouragement of sustainable community woodlands (continuous-cover forestry) is a major part of CELT planning for the future to increase woodland and biodiversity throughout Ireland whilst providing a valuable economic asset to benefit rural communities

CELT is a registered charity (CHY 14519) dedicated to environmental awareness, education and training.
